I think Intel silence indicates it is OK with the consensus estimate for Q2. The consensus for Q2 is $0.68. That is certainly down from $0.81 actual in Q1. As somebody pointed out on this thread, the analysts provided the defacto warning early in the quarter. I would hope Intel can beat the $0.68.
Also, the consensus for FY'98 and FY'99 are down considerably over the past few months. FY'98 = $3.12 and FY'99 = $3.77. Both numbers are below FY'97 actuals.
Also note that we are starting to see estimates for FY'00, with a couple analysts forecasting consensus $3.65. Again, below FY'97 actual. It's hard to imagine large share price growth with these numbers.
