Doug, if you think that's a short one, you should have seen what Richard was posting in mid-July '96!!! Actually, the fluctuation in size of the output of your favorite scans and the signals generated by the scans on your watch list stocks offer a perspective on market conditions for the kinds of stocks you prefer to follow. In my case, and note that this is mostly intuitive, my scans have been generating more buy candidates recently; but the 3 trading systems I run every market evening are generating more sell signals than buys?! This is an unusual pattern, so I don't know what to make of it. For safety, I have placed sell stops in my portfolio positions currently with largest paper profits. I generally prefer mental stops, but when I feel uncertain, I'll look to protect profits mechanically.
