I can't believe you're still around, Richard. You must have covered by now.
The quote about the 100,000 sales was in either the E3 reports or the Red Chip ones. You have read the thread haven't you? I mean, you've got real money on the line here, so a little more work than just checking some so-called "official" sales reports is in order, right? Some of those official sources are always low because they don't survey all the stores. Eg, WCW Nitro sold a lot more copies than one would guess from looking at PC Data.
As Sigmund points out, the full money from these PSX titles didn't flow to the bottom line in 1997, which might indicate that there are heavy reserves for titles like Bravo and Vs., which then sell-through at $29.99 and while not making much profit, allows the reserve to flow to the bottom, which is what I think happened a bit in Q3 1997.
Considering some of these games are then released in Europe as well, is it that outrageous to think that the initial runs averaged just over 100,000? THQ's been pretty conservative with its guidance in the past, so I think we trust them at this point.
Don't you think Inland has been a successful investment?
