This is my second post on PAIR SI site, first one was about a year ago. PAIR is my second largest holding now, next to ATHM. Holding both for about a year now. My cost on owning PAIR is probably higher than most of you guys.

For me, this is probably the best time to hold PAIR, why? After about one year of uncertainty of whether cable modem or xDXL is going win the game. Today the picture gets about 5% clearer than yesterday with AT&T / TCI deal.

Just think that if you were the regional telephone companies, would you just sit, wait and enjoy AT&T get into your market? Of course not, and I bet all executives of telcos is in the meeting room right now try to figure out way to react fast. Even telcos unfortunately losing the home market to AT&T, they can still easily keep the office and business market, but they have to do it fast. PAIR, a company with no debt and superior product lines, is in best position to help the telcos.

I think in cable modem side, we should be investing in service oriented companies (ATHM), who just take advantage of the best cable modem technology offered by companies like BAY, COMS, HAYS, CSCO, HLIT. While in the telco side, we should avoid service providers and focus on the high tech companies like PAIR, ADTN, LU, ROK, ASND .
