Slava.....Did you clearly read his book? On page 14 he explicitly stated that he uses the 14 period ADX. The most common period for the ADX is 14 or 9 period. Some have used 7 period ADX. Before you delve any futher I strongly suggest you fully understand how the ADX is calculated. Every priced based technical indicators have their strength and weakness and it would be good knowledge to understand this. In the appendix of the book he list some books for recommended reading. I strongly suggest you read all those books first.....Ted
