No meat? Have you forgotten the K6-2-3D...soon to be sub-$1000 PCs which play games quite well. Even the Celeron is decent at 3D games.
Acer has a Celeron at $999 at best buy.


Does it include a 24x DVD player? How about 4 gigs of disk? 64 megs of RAM? Sound card? 17"/21" monitor? Quake II minimum recommended settings: 133 Mhz, 24m RAM, 400m disk if you want to play on a network/internet.

Did you buy a Celeron @ $999 from Acer? I would never buy an Acer. Looks like most people are buying DELL, based on their earnings.
