with all the Claims about PC's and NT being workstations i found this admission from HP amusing....

As for India, HP has not yet received instructions
not to ship high-end workstations there, even
though yesterday the United States said it was
curbing exports of high-performance workstations
and supercomputers to India. India makes up
about $5 million, or 10 percent, of HP's Asian
turnover last year and is expected to do slightly
better this year, Lee said.

HP's PC workstations aren't powerful enough to
fall into the restricted class, Lee said, and
although the military is a sales target, products
sold to India are mainly used for classroom
training. HP's workstation business mostly comes
from large multinationals encouraged by a
stronger U.S. dollar to increase investments in
Asia, he said, including companies from the
telecommunications and finance sectors.
