Evidently, the consumers nowadays don't agree with you. Facts are facts. And the fact is, CD burner sales are currently surpassing Zip sales. And storage watchers are calling for a continuation of geometric increases in CD burners year to year--something Iomega had hoped for with Zip, but didn't deliver.

>>And if Iomega can no longer compete with the cd-r market, how their stock is still so cult-ish?<<

"Cultish?" I guess maybe still, but not nearly to the degree it used to be. All one has to do is witness the incredible decline in trading volume Iomega has undergone. In post-split terms, Iomega ended last year and started this year in excess of 6 million shares traded daily. now, it is about 3.6 according to Yahoo and SI, with a reality of well under 2 million daily average in a more recent time frame.

Iomega's "cult" status is just that- one that Jim Jones would have been proud of. As many here have found out, owning Iomega shares can be a bit like waiting in line for Jim Jones' Kool-aid.
