I think Ericson is focused on selling minutes. The other system has a 300 foot range. High bandwidth is GREAT, but if you are a traveller, do you want to have to go back to the hotel to connect to the net? Mobile net access nirvanna has three requirements: Low cost, high bandwidth, at least regional coverage. Ericson has high bandwidth and regional coverage at high cost. The hotel solution has high bandwidth at possibly low costs but not good coverage. Metricom has good coverage, low cost. Hopefully soon Metricom will have high bandwidth. For me, most of the net access when I travel occurs in a restaurant during a meal. Number two is in convention centers or client offices. Hotel is number three followed by on various forms of transportation. Dragonfly
