Ascot Resources Ltd - Fifth kimberlite intersected at Victoria Island Ascot Resources Ltd AOT Shares issued 12,570,897 1998-06-24 close $0.7 Wednesday Jun 24 1998 See Major General Resources Ltd (MGJ) News Release Mr. Glenn Shevchenko reports Monopros has intersected another kimberlite target in a recent drill hole at the Victoria Island diamond project. This brings the total number of kimberlites on the property to five out of eight targets tested. Samples from all five kimberlites are being prepared for shipment to South Africa to test for microdiamond content in DeBeers laboratories. Follow-up sampling of these kimberlites will depend on these results. Geophysical surveys have also defined several additional targets that are situated under lakes which require drill testing. Monopros crews are evaluating other targets on the Major General-Ascot property. Over one dozen geophysical and heavy mineral indicator anomalies are being ground checked. Work will consist of reconnaissance geologic mapping, till sampling and geophysical surveys. Targets developed from these surveys may be tested during the next drill program.
