Hal You obviously believe that the Government knows what's better for the market than the individuals making up the market. Silly statist shills like yourself always pontificate loudly that people who know better should make the rules and save every fallen sparrow from his own worst instincts. But so far I haven't seen any evidence that we proles - the guys who no one goes broke from underestimating our stupidity per your Mencken quote - asking for any help from government. We have sub $1000 computers and a thousand guys selling us everything from soup to nuts for them. And we still a have internet privacy rights. So far... But I do see a lot of whining and puling from competitors trying to get Uncle Sam to bushwack their competitors for them. Netscape Sun Oracle. Last time I checked, these guys were corporations and looking for a handout too. Haven't noticed any CITIZENS lining up outside Best Buy to sign a petition to sanction MSFT. Ah well, what do they know, poor lemmings. So, please spare me your misinformed and misguided sense of outrage at the free market. Unleashing the djinn of government will only unleash the law of unintended consequence - make the free market into a black market where the ineffective products are protected species and effective products are contraband.
