Just clicking through some old posts [rained out golf] and see you wanting:
"I currently have the Q phone and enjoy it but I am really looking forward to a CDMA ISP to come on line so I can do my web browsing/emailing everywhere."

Reed Hundt in Singapore said Americans are starting to think that all should have their own phone number. I reckon that is out of date already and all we need is our own unique name then a voice dial or keyboard entry. No more numbers. Internet Protocol is the way to go. Web for all. Ericsson is putting all bets on IP for telephony.

cdma2000 will need to lead to Internet Protocol calls on Anita[TM]. Having lived through the relief of dumping "Pounds Shillings and Pence" and the imperial system of weights and measures [miles, furlongs, bushells, pecks, inches, acres, hundredweight, pounds, ounces, stones - I hear the USA still use 'stones' to weigh themselves = maybe Reed can get the USA to move out of the stone age soon], I'll be glad when the 20th century system of people having numbers finally goes in favor of names. Who can remember a number? Anyone can remember a name like Ramsey Su or even Lelend Weisnor.

Of course if you call John Smith or Mr Wong you'll get the wong number unless they get a middle name, like Zbignez.

Meanwhile, cdma2000 will be the defacto standard before the UMTS-3GW-CDMA-VW-YETIS system has finished their first level kleptocracy approvals system analysis.

Mqurice [worldwide unique name!]

PS: Ashley - charging to use the Psion operating system? Good grief. Haven't they heard that intellectual property is supposed to be free for the greater good of the great collective and humanity in general? Where is Tero? He'd better get on to Nokia and Ericsson and point out to them that they believe in free IP. Or did they forget that silly idea and have agreed to the 8% for cdma2000 which it is worth? Ericsson must have the credibility of the President of the Liar's Club. How on earth can a GSM customer buy from them with any confidence at all?

[I guess you missed out on your $42 for Qualcomm eh Leland?]
