Good question! Will have to research this.

FWIW, COMS is leader in gigabit ethernet. They have an
early lead, and are playing this aggressively to solidify
that lead long term.

I think there's a good connection between the gigabit
ethernet and Layer 3 Switching. Maybe somebody can help
me out here?
