As you probably know, I've waited for a big analyst-forecast correction as one of the necessary signals which portend the next boom. I find it noteworthy that no significant mention was made of Win98 or Y2K as HDD demand drivers. One of the conditions that sets the stage for a boom is underforecasting directly resulting in industry undercapacity ... it seems we haven't reached that point quite yet, but the next 6 months promise to be interesting indeed.
