I'm definitely going to paper trade this strategy for a few months to see what it actually looks like. Schiller does indicate at one point in his book that a 2 sided cvss was not available in at least one month, probably because their were no calls or puts at the 2 sigma strike price.... instead he opened either a bull or bear credit spread.

Jim, did you purchase Schiller's excel workbooks for helping to compute the OEX sigma's and entry prices? He e-mailed them to me as attachments, but I will have to do some major reading to understand his instructions. I may have to write him again for some clarification.

A more general question to you or the thread. I've been using E*Trade and have considered switching to Investrade which has options commission of $14.95 minimum. But this is for online trading through which it is my understanding you can't open up spreads... Any good recommendations for an Options broker through which to apply this strategy that won't take the majority of the net credit out in commissions?

Jim, yes...I would be interested in seeing how your scans do on individual stocks, though I'm not familiar with quotes-plus. How are you calculating the OEX sigma... are you using Schiller's equations or running the past data through some other format?
