YTD, and for the past 52 weeks, the return on the short side of my portfolio has exceeded the returns of the S&P 500 by a significant number of basis points, and is outperforming the long side on an ROI metric as well. If you stick to the dogs like CFON, PNDA, and CCSI, shorting is most profitable.
