I live in a beach-burb of LA; I have it my profile.

There are hundreds of small computer shops in this area; most of them are owned/operated by Asians (Taiwanese, Koreans, Indians) who have connections to overseas mfgs and distributors. I see a lot of "white-box" merchandise volume flow through these players. It's where I buy most of my own gear.

3 weeks ago the stock situation was about the same in this area.
Beast Buy: fully stocked shelves, both CL and Diamond.
InCOMPetent USA: fully stocked shelves, mostly Diamond. A huge aisle display with around 30 boxes -- good news is that display is gone; hopefully those boards all sold.
Fry's: fully stocked shelves with overstock on the top shelves. Fully stocked endcaps. I estimate they had close to a HUNDRED boards on the shelves as of yesterday. Mostly Diamond and CL; about 20 Orchid boards.
If you investigate shopper.com you'll find that all the direct vendors are stocked as well, and have been every time I checked over the past couple of months.

Something I didn't mention previously is that, at Fry's, (where the selection is the widest) there were four separate makes of i740 boards. If you visit the i740 fan sites you'll find that the i740 seems to be going the way of the Trio64 series -- already nearly a hundred different makes of boards. Yikes.
