I know you didn't ask for my advice, but I'll give you some of my random thoughts anyway. FWIW.

If I'm not close to the money and it is coming close the month's expiration before -- that is a good time, I think. If the position is the result of rolling down a successful play I leave it on a little longer perhaps.

Any time I have rolled out -- it would always have been better for me, when things were not moving my way, to sell and then wait a "few more days" before buying the next expiration.

I think on MU and semi's there is a change of sentiment going on. Sell and give yourself a few more days.
