Shalom Aleichem Alan;
Only someone with an agenda would fail to see that God speaks of National Israel in the scriptures you highlighted. I wonder why Yeshua chose to become a Jew if not because of the example they pose. The Jews, like myself have been rebellious. The Jews, like myself have no claim to salvation and deserve only God's anger. But like his Grace for me, they too will find Grace. My Salvation depends upon God keeping his promises. I would find it hard to have assurance if he simply dismissed his promises to national Isreal.
I posted these two scriptures to Chris. They point out the same thing. That God speaks of Jewish Israel when he promises they will come back and never leave him.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I [am] the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
How could the house of Israel mean the Church? When was the Church in captivity for their iniquity? When did God hide his face from them? One fine day the house of Israel will return and will know God from that day forward. In my understanding of English that means forever.
