One observation of the moving of God's spirit in the church I am a member of. I have to admit I am a little more suspect than I used to be but find myself still strangely accepting; I feel because of my personal experiences.

We have so few people that actually grew up in The Church of God. Most of us are Baptist, Methodist, etc. So there is not a lot of the evidence of the Holy Spirit as depicted by falling out in the spirit etc. But in the 9 years I have attended there; I hit the floor once there and twice at revivals at other churches; so that makes 3 times in my life. I feel that others are also very reserved about that aspect of the Holy Spirit and that is one reason we have one of the fastest growing congregations in the state of Va. In other words when on those rare occasions it does happen I feel it is real.

As much as we hate the fakeness I feel the Lord loathes it even more; and that is the main reason The Lord will not ever bring growth to his body where he sees non genuine actions.

Moving on to another subject, but along the same lines, I have had more trouble reaching adults that were brought up in church than the people that were not brought up in church. I feel the reason is because for so many of these adults they saw too much expected behavior rather than genuine behavior.

My little girl is 7 and I have a 24 and 28 year old. If I'm going to church on Wed night I will ask her if she wants to go with me; I more or less am pleased when she goes but it is not a mandatory experience; I always leave then just enough room to back out and occasionally she will; they are not stupid they can tell if you are giving them some freedom or not. The whole point is to make the experience of God real to them.

I noticed she will usually choose to put 25 Cents in the offering. The other day she found two dollars on the street; I didn't try to make any connection between the two; I wanted to see what the Lord was telling her; so I kept my mouth shut; I want to learn more from her as I raise her than she learns from me if that is possible; and I think it is.

In Christ.gregor
