Kenneth, Antec is still building out HFC systems and currently has contracts to do most of the major cities in the TCI portfolio. I think they are using a variety of suppliers, but one of the most interesting small companies is Harmonic Lightwave, HLIT.
HLIT is leading development for DWDM, network management, smart nodes, etc. They are a pure play on HFC and they are in all the right places with previously announced wins with to build the most sophisticated leading projects for TCI, Cox, Time Warner, Rodgers, etc.
Unfortunately, HLIT is getting pushed around by market makers and short sellers on a low volume day. It could well be a great buy at this moment. Certainly, it has tremendous opportunity from TCI and many other systems upgrades from cable operator all over the world.
Kevin Slocum of Soundview just released a statement saying HLIT was in a position to benefit greatly from TCI.
Sorry, it's a little boosting, but this is a great company and the more people know of it, the less these assholes can push the share price around to please themselves.
