GP,

Cirrus has had a relationship with Lucent since 1991. Around 1994, there was talk of taking Mass Storage and breaking it off as a wholly owned subsidiary. At that time, there were rumors about Lucent and Cirrus doing a joint venture in mass storage where Lucent would use Cirrus technology and Cirrus would use Lucent capacity. I really do not know how serious it was at that time but, Cirrus does hold a number of patents that Lucent would do well to have and, if you listen to the mass storage people, Cirrus has most of the engineering talent. I would say that this would be better than a good match, this would be a great match.

But, I don't see it happening under the present scenario of a Hackworth management staff.
