Newsbytes - June 25, 1998: 12:41 a.m. ET

HILLSBORO, OREGON, U.S.A. (NB) -- Intel Corp.
[NASDAQ:INTC] has announced it is supporting
a home networking technology that works across
phone lines. Known as HomePNA (Home Phone
Networking Alliance), the technology is being
announced progressively over the next few
months by Intel and 11 other members of the
alliance.

The non "processor chip" members of the
HomePNA alliance are 3Com, Compaq, IBM,
Lucent, Rockwell and Tut Systems, the latter of
which, Newsbytes notes, has recently announced
plans for its HomePNA compliant HomeRun
home network technology to be sold in the third
