To Mr. Honker & The Thread:

(Mr. Honker's post is pasted between the >>...<<)

>>Hey Longie, Dell got real weak at the end, oh boy, I'm kinda nervous for you. Did I hit the top on the nose to within an hour again. What a surprise...I man I hope Dell doesn't plum(m)et too badly. I don't need the money, and now I'm all tense that the T-shirt hysteria may end.<<

Anyone that doesn't "need the money" is a fool...
Your remarks about Kemble's t-shirts are juvenile and cheap. Kemble deserves better than that, and I think (in earnest) that you owe him an apology.

>>Anyway, seriously for once:
I have only lost on one short sell in the past 16 months, you know which one (I think). Don't bet against me. I may like to tease people and play my games on this thread, but trust me, I don't lose too often.<<

Thanks for being serious (for once). I haven't lost on DELL yet, and I've always been on the buy-side. My total adjusted basis is less than $5. Maybe you too can share the wealth.

>>And, yes our model does say to wait until $98. But I don't mind being a little early on either the short side or the covering side.<<

Oh, so your model isn't as perfect as you claim?

>>And no calls. We really do use a model, and calls are not prt of it.<<

If you can short, you can sell calls. I just think you lack serious confidence in "the model".

>>And finally, I admit Dell is a great company, and you will make a fortune over time, but momentum stocks like Dell are the way I feed my family, based on the short term only.<<

1) I've already made a fortune in DELL that could support my family on interest alone.

2) Short term, one can make money shorting DELL. There's absolutely no question about it. The problem with your posting is that you don't talk about DELL being up over time, year after year, through the ups and downs of the cycle. You specifically predict the demise of DELL, on a long term basis, starting when you call the top.

I don't have a problem with someone coming on this thread who shorts the stock through these ups and downs. I have a problem with someone who does that, and then tells all of the long term owners of DELL that they better cash out now, because the ride is over. You even admit it here(that the ride is not over). This inflammatory BS is simply not appropriate here.

You'd get a lot more respect (any is better than current) and credibility, if you'd just say I'm strictly a short term player, and I think the stock is going to pull back for a while, and here's why...

But instead (aside from making the usual inflammatory remarks) you speak of mysterious models and your undocumented success. If you've really got a good point to make, and provide substantiation for it, I'd be glad to hear it. But simply calling a top, and saying the stock is heading south for a long while, is not going to earn you any respect around here.

>>Anyway, I'll cut the crap on this thread, good luck...<<

Thank you for "cut(ting) the crap on this thread". We'd all be very appreciative of it.

The thread is populated (generally) with people who are long-term bullish on DELL. It is possible to be a short-term shorter, and a long-term holder (or buyer). Keeping all of this in mind might make people warm up to your posts. Otherwise, why post?

Sincerely hoping that your posts become serious,

LONGonDELL

P.S. I'll post seriously to you, if you'll do the same.
