He should have given the veterans playing time, especially Lalas some respect, withouth them US soccer would not be here right now. But the bastard always hold grudges...Instead of shutting up and concentrating on the game, he was openly quoted looking for another job.
Instead, he puts Burns back in there. Thank God Mijatovic got injured otherwise US could have pulled of a 6 goal Bulgaria on us. Then Heidjuk, the best player by far, gets substituted. He left Dooley back in there. Okay, Dooley had a tremendous contribution to US Soccer and is a hell of a guy, but he clearly showed he should be retired, way too slow, way too many mistakes, Why in the world would you leave him in there when you got Balboa and Lalas in the bench? Why not put Preki in from the start or at least a half? Damn, this guy's lifetime dream was to score a goal against his native Yugoslavia in the WC! Instead you play him thirty minutes.
I just want to say a few words about a few players:
Heidjk-THE surprise of the US team, this guy has written a ticket to a European club. He will be a US national team fixture for years. Just imagine if he had not picked up surfin....He never quit. Simply he deserves a medal in my book.
Cobi Jones-What a tireless kid with incredible talent being wasted in the Moron's schemes. He never quit. Medal.
Stewart-Same as above.
Keller, Friedel-Nice job guys, not your fault. USA has goalie position covered for years.
Burns-Bye bye. No thanks, stay in MLS
Dooley-Bye bye. Thank you for your contributions to US Soccer, wish you had retired earlier, nothing personal
Reyna-Nice try kid, you could do more in a better system. And do some weight lifting man, you got to get tougher.
McBride-Your head is golden. Now work on your feet. You got a future
Maisoneve-You showed sparkles of your talent in today's game. I guess it takes two games to work out the nerves?
Regis-This kid has talent. Just imagine what this kid will do with Pope when he plays with them for a while? What a mistake for the Moron to start him when he got on the team just 3 weeks before the WC! Lalas said something about chemistry.
Pope-Nice try kid, first World Cup. You got great talent, don't let it get into your head. US soccer depends on you.

USA will do better in the next World Cup (could be a good stock to buy from a risk perspective<g>)no doubt about it. What gets me is that we missed a great chance to do wonders in this WC because USA sure had the TALENT this year. All they needed was a good coach to mold them and use the players' talents appropriatelly. We simply missed that chance...and that is sad my friend. I just hope Rothenberg fires the Moron ASS NOW. The more he waits the more I get to hear the asshole plead for a job...I hold him responsible for the 3 losses, heck even his players blame him!
