<The 1.312 in outstanding shares? Where did you get that?
After split, 4 months ago it is about 2.7Billion that I
know. Do you agree?>

I quickly pulled the numbers off of thier 97 annual statement. The shares outstanding are actually irrelevant. It is the economic earnings recognition that I was trying to illustrate. Take the gross earnings numbers that I jumbled together and divide them by any shares outstanding number you feel is appropriate for the FY 97 time period. I am sure you will see my point in the ambiguity of relying on the E in the P/E.

As for my opinion of the fair value of MSFT, I will not offer that on SI since I offer my opinion on a commercial basis. If you think about it, for me to reconcile 135 accounts over the 150 or so specific to the industry, analyze historical trends, and adjust it for risk just to post it to SI is a bit much to ask, especially if you think it is too much of a bother to visit my site:-)
