Hey folks,

I don't mean to be negative. I'm simply posting what I've heard. (I though that was the purpose of this exchange of ideas) And, as Kent Rattey already pointed out, it sounds like an individual sales person changing the rules a little bit to fit his/her own situation. I am inclined to think that is what I heard about... but I thought I would ask if ANYONE ELSE had heard anything like that.

I like Bay, and sell / install a lot of their gear. The Accelar is one of the easiest products I have ever had the pleasure to configure and install. Just watch out for creating multiple VLANS and pushing 58Ks or 28115s out from a collapsed backbone (where the Accelar is the backbone.) If there are multiple 58Ks in the network, they appear to see each other, and try to force one or more of their vlan trunks into "standby active" or "trunk" mode - and you thereby lose that vlan to the 58K.
Also, if you want IPX routing between vlans, plug it in AT the Accelar.... not out in a remote 5000 chassis with a 58K in it.

I hope we all make a lot of money... May Bay management run Nortel.

jack
