Cali,

Buffett stocks. I'm not sure I understand what Buffet is going after, but I've built a screens and spreadsheet to try to capture the intent of the Buffettology book. Several stocks meet the quantitative requirements as spelled out in the book, but the emphasis Buffett places on "brand name" and barriers to competition is much more troublesome.

Some potential stocks to investigate that quantitatively fit the profile:

APCC - American Power Conversion. Unquestioned leader in uniteruptible power supplies, have dominant market share, and have unchallenged reputation as the most dependable.

AZO- Autozone. The numbers fit the mold. Tough for me to make the call on the intangibles Buffett looks for.

CDWC - a leader in direct retail sales in computer supplies/equipment. (Mike has given his feedback on this, and doesn't think this would qualify as a Buffett stock because franchise is too much in jeopardy and is based on execution).

NKE - still shows up on the screen.

Would be interested to hear if you like any of these.

Shane
