good morning all. dave, i don't think it's just the mms. i think we've run into another kind of wolf in sheeps clothing. take a look at these so-called small investor research sites. i think it would be quite revealing to accumulate all of the posts by members of these sites and correlate them to their 'hot' and 'not hot' pick lists. the internet is a fantastic tool that can be utilized passively or actively. there are a few people that post who clearly declare their relationship to pick lists and newsletters. like them or not, at least their position is known. but i think we're seeing more and more 'non-labeled' representatives whose motives are to influence investors to support the views of the site. these are just my opinions and i could be way off base here. but i would really love to see some of these sites identify themselves when participating in discussion threads like these. i would really love to see the 'research' they claim posted next to their 'reviews' of stocks. in short, i'd like to see intelligent and balanced presentation. i stop visiting sites that appear to me to have a hidden agenda. so evaluating 'good' research sites becomes critical to evaluating good stocks. jmho.
