<<Sell your stock and join the class action >>

1) You don't have to join a class action. You are automatically a member if you fit the definition, and you have to take affirmative steps to "opt-out". Generally, the only rational reason for opting out is to bring a separate lawsuit.

2) You certainly don't have to sell your stock to get recovery. Continued stock ownership and being a member of a class in a class action are completely unrelated. The only reason to sell property subject to loss-of-value litigation is to establish value, and with publicly-traded securities, this is not a problem. Value is established by a market price.
