The Accelar is pretty cool. Usually, when I put in an accelar, users whose workstations are directly connected, and when their server based applications are directly connected - report that access times to their applications are better than if the application were based on their local hard drives.

One example; the Lan Administrator used Outlook 98 as a client to Exchange Server 5.5. Prior to the Accelar, Outlook took from 20 to 24 seconds to load and come up fully (thru a switched network using shared segments connected to a 58K switch.) After the Accelar - Outlook took less than 1 second to come up. We started using that as an internal demo, to demonstrate to the "non technical management" what our new collapsed backbone strategy would do for their company.
