Interesting story. I too was in CompUSA last night to replace my Wife's stolen notebook with my wife. They had two Compaq models out. Not very many models of other notebooks. To make a long story short Toshiba with an Intel 266 chip, 4.2 hard drive, 24x CD drive combined with a 3.5 floppy (very compact arrangement.) $2,100. She will probably pick it up today. Being married to a Compaq share holder means nothing when she buys laptops. Salesman said they are expecting more new Compaq models in the near future. She waited three weeks for WIN98, and is tired of waiting. She wants a replacement now.
