I think when we can't accept scripture as written, then our human minds are rebelling against scripture. So why not look at the exact scripture and just examine it, period, for what it says, and see if in fact it is truth? Peter warns everyone that Paul is HARD to be understood, and MANY WRESTLE with his meanings, some, Peter noticed TO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION. That was not an attack on Paul, it was a warning of what Peter had noticed. Well, guess what, before I noticed what Peter WROTE, I noticed everywhere what Peter thought, because I was thinking exactly the same thing about what everyone seemed to do with the words of Paul--create a new gospel and a new church almost. Scary.
Peter 2, last three paragraphs. God showed me this when I was praying and asking for forgiveness for not worshipping Paul like everone else seemed to.
That's all I know. That's what happened. It's like He said, that's alright, even Peter had those thoughts.
But the Body of Christ, being human, has been a mess in the past, is a mess in many ways in the present, and will be a mess later on we are warned even in the Millenium living with Jesus. When satan is once again let loose to test people. And if it wasn't a mess, as the saying goes, it would become a mess as soon as I got there.
So, I'm not afraid of looking at exact scripture and deciding exactly what it is there for. And I've seen enough of what Paul warns about clearly blabbled on askgod for months and months and months, and no one listens ever.
But no, if this turns into a huge factional argument, then of course it is time to take it elsewhere. Let's just see. But this is not a place for arguers, it is a place for studiers of the word and those with interesting Christian observations to share them without having to argue with anyone about the matter. |
