Dell Customers Can Download Information From World's Largest ISPs at
56Kbps

U.S. Robotics' x2 technology has demonstrated widespread
acceptance, with nearly 40 Internet service providers worldwide -
representing more than 15 million subscribers - committed to
supporting it. Providers supporting x2 include America Online,
CompuServe, IBM Global Network, MCI, NETCOM, Prodigy and many others.
"By including our x2 modem technology on Dimension PCs, we're
providing a great value to customers," said Michael Seedman,
vice president and general manager of U.S. Robotics' Personal
Communications Division. "Customers who buy Dimension PCs with U.S.
Robotics' x2 technology can download information at 56 Kbps from many
of the world's largest Internet service providers."

"And, when the ITU-T standard for 56 Kbps is complete at some
future date, Sportster Voice customers can easily upgrade to the
standard if they want to," added Seedman. U.S. Robotics submitted
a proposal for 56 Kbps modem speeds to the ITU-T in September, 1996.
As a key contributor to many past standards, the company plans to
lead the effort to standardize 56 Kbps technology worldwide.

Many local Internet service providers (ISPs) will also support
the U.S. Robotics x2 technology, and can add it to their Internet
points of presence via a software upgrade. Dell Dimension customers
can access a list of ISPs that will support x2 on U.S. Robotics' Web
page (http://www.usr.com), or contact their local ISP to find out when x2 support will be available.
