Jim -

I was reading an article this am on the HDTV standards agreement and came across the following:

"Burger predicts that they will not include the capability to receive and display true, high-definition television signals. His industry has argued for years that the biggest selling point for the new televisions will be somewhat improved digital pictures and interactivity -- the ability to call up World Wide Web sites while watching television or to click a button on the remote control to call up electronic mail.

Television makers say they intend to offer interactive services, too. "I think including modems -- cable modems, ISDN modems or something -- on all of these early models is something that's on everyone's drawing boards," said a senior officer of a major Japanese television manufacturer. "That way, the TV program can display hypertext, and you can click on it to open a window on screen for that site while you watch a show."

Do you think that an ADSL modem will be part of the new TV sets and have we heard anything from any of the mfgrs.?

Regards...
