While all information may be in the stock, fear and greed are factors influencing price which are not truly fundamental to the analysis of the company or industry. If investors ignore negative factors (as investors did in the drilling industry last summer and fall) they can get clobbered. Contrawise, if investors buy stocks on positive news and indications, while others are selling due to panic and fear, they may be very handsomely rewarded.
