"In bringing QUAKE II to the PlayStation game console, a new segment of gamers will be introduced to the phenomenon of QUAKE II and the QUAKE franchise," states Robert Kotick, Chairman and CEO, Activision, Inc. "The game's pounding action, multiplayer mayhem and never before seen levels will provide console players with a powerful new gaming experience."

I think the only thing that could unseat this as an additional source of revenue would be multiplayer Unreal on N64, and I don't even think they have the bugs worked out of multiplayer PC Unreal, much less if a version is even in the works for console.
Even more off topic...
This is a great quote I found while visiting the unreal.com website...I just couldn't resist--for all you voodoo/voodoo rush/ voodoo2 people out there:
"Right now, PowerVR is the only 3D technology value-leader capable of delivering the high-end performance required to run a game as sophisticated as 'Unreal,'" said Mark Rein, vice president, Epic MegaGames. unreal.com
Hey, even I got snookered into buying a M3D, you get what you pay for, and I did not pay much, hehe. Value leader was the key word, so maybe the quote is accurate, you can get the Matrox M3D with PCX2 on it for $20 after rebate at CompUSA right now, I paid $40 and threw it into my old 486-120 for fun, Tombraider at 5 frames a second was not fun, but that's the CPU's fault. |
