Moonray- this guy wants to patent Ring Modulus Algebra?
Thanks for the post, I laughed!
For non-mathematicians, this calendar thing the guy worked on for 14 months is just 1st semester theoretical algebra applied to a "ring", a class of numbers that rolls around.
Clocks are one example... you count 10, 11, 12, 1 .. (one??? Yes.) same thing in the old 4 bit binary... 1101, 1110, 1111, 0000 (zero? yes.) same with the year, 98,99,00 ? sure.
The most interesting mathematical example I know of is the Maijan calendar. There are more day names than days of the week (20 day names, 12 days in the week, I think), and they knew there were 365.25 days per year but used 360, leaving 5 party days near the winter solstace (just like us!) except they had 6 party days ever 4 years... leap year party day.
Anyways, this guy has nothing.
MY patent is the big 'un- I have patented the concept of "Splitting the DJIA" to avoid Dow 10,000 ! That's right, if anyone decides they would rather declare a split in the DJIA index than reprogram their computer, send me royalties!
