Chris - Jubak says that Cisco is way out ahead in the horse race but if you check their gross revenues and net income for the past four quarters, Lucent comes out ahead of Cisco. Why does this put Cisco ahead? Jubak would argue that Cisco's growth rate puts them ahead but that is a case of comparing apples with oranges. Cisco is moving from a high margin business of selling routers in the enterprise space into a lower margin business of selling the carrier space. Its margins and growth rate will be slower. Jubak does a poor job of discussing who is ahead in the techology race. In other words, who has the best technology and products. It certainly is not Cisco.
