Teri: A few final thoughts before I return to my lurking ways. Your implication that I have "appeared from out of the blue", or have just "shown up to antagonize you" is far from accurate. The fact is, I have read every post on this thread every day for over two years including, I suspect, every one you have ever written. Nor do I accuse you of being strange for posting your opinions, challenging the analysts' unsupported drivel, nor rooting out useful information on the semi equipment industry. To the contrary, I applaud those efforts, and appreciate the service it provides to us all. That said, however, it does get tiresome to hear you incessantly state with utter conviction the negatives of current industry conditions when it's clear you actually lack sufficient conviction to short AMAT. In your most recent message to me, you again emphasized that AMAT is trading far above historical trough valuations. Moreover, and correct me if I'm wrong, you are a frequent proponent of the view that AMAT's price is destined for the low twenties or teens. Fair enough, but then why aren't you shorting the stock? My point is simply this: the very doubts and uncertainties that apparently dissuade you from shorting probably could add considerable nuance and balance to your relentless "glass empty" posts. |
