There are quite a few varieties which are fun to grow, and you don't find them in the average "gringo's" garden.

Try Habanero or Rocoto for something hotter than even FBNA stock. They grow in a more bushy plant than your basic Anaheim or Cayenne, the classic pepper on a stem. The Poblano is a great stuffing pepper, not very hot. Serrano isn't as hot as Habanero, but many will think it's as close as they care to get. Mirasol is long and curvy, very pretty, and used for sauces and soups.
