Alcatel has a large cables group that includes several plants in
North America. These include a fibre optics plant in NC, communications cables plants in Quebec and PA, power cables plants in
Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan and NY, 2 magnet wire plants in Kentucky
and Ontario and a copper rod mill in Quebec.

Alcatel stock is widely held in France and is one of its largest industrial concerns. Often movement reflects the Paris
Bourse.....
