Read Edwin Lefevre's "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator," published long ago but an all-time classic. He states that, although the methodology and technology involved in making profits in the market may surely change, human psychology will NEVER change. That is the number one reason why it will always be possible to make a very good living in the markets, especially as a day trader. People are making the same mistakes they made 75 years ago. Read the book and then follow any one of a number of chatrooms and you will see the value in Lefevre's assertion.

By the way, this is a wonderfully solid and intelligent thread - and those aren't always easy to find. I don't believe I've posted here before but do I hope to join in the discussion more often in the future. Happy trading, and perhaps, though life can seem so complicated at times, you will take this simple goal of mine (and an ancient toast) to heart: "Health, money and love - and the time to enjoy all three."
