I was told that PBXs generally introduce additional A/D conversions. If this is the case then how many of Dell's business customers are going to be disappointed when the 56K feature turns out to be useless?<<<

Doesn't look like any BIG deal. I've heard that:

56k could be a problem for analog PBXs (and analog key systems), depending on how the analog portion is implemented. These systems have always been a problem for modem users.

People with digital PBXs won't have a problem (in fact, they may be able to always get 56k since the D/A is close by, in the PBX, and hopefully their internal wiring was done well). In tests, x2 has worked at some number of internal phone lines.
