Rocky, Thanks for posting the Orb update. As usual, we'll still have to wait a few months to see if Iftikar can really put this product on the shelves. If he can come through though, it could be bad timing for SyQuest. Just about the time the SparQ is expected to be shipping in enough volume to show a positive margin, Orb could come along and start whacking SyQuest around.

With rock-bottom hard drive prices, lower cost CD-Rs and CD-RWs, new DVD recordables, Sony's HiFD intro, Imation's give-away pricing, Castlewood's hot Orb, Iomega's problems, and SyQuest's last chance turn-around attempt, the second half of '98 is shaping up to be an exciting period in the sector. I wonder who the winners will be? Perhaps customers and stock traders will emerge the only victors as price competition continues and company profits erode.

Regards - Dale
