Hi Bob,

>>> I hope you learned the Ligand handshake while being a lurker;)<<<

Hmmmm. Musta missed that somewhere along the line. Okay go ahead and tell me. Nothing worse than being clueless on inside jokes :)

>>BTW: Do you still have the other 2 stocks you bought on Oct. 1?<<

Hehehehe. No thank God!!! I even managed to get out of CYTO with a very small loss. Actually I mentioned buying 4 stocks in that post..DRMD, CYTO, CYTL, and MATX. Also I said I planned on holding them for at least 5 years. I tend to say that about all of my stock picks, but have been investing for 20 years without ever holding any of them for 5 years. Geeze I was hoping no one here would read that post because I took a bit of a swipe at this thread in the post. Sometimes those old posts can come back and bite you eh:) I think I said the people on the LGND thread were too upbeat about LGND and there was too much newsgroup hype on it. I'm kinda used to seeing a lot of fluff companies overhyped on the newsgroups and saw LGND mentioned quite a bit and being something of a contrarian I never really bothered to check it out fully. But in the meantime the LGND stock price has come down some, and LGND seems to have made a lot of progress that hasn't been reflected in the stock price so it now seems to be a buy to me. I plan on holding it at least 5 years :)) Also before buying in I read the latest 10-K and was very impressed.

As a side note... nothing personal to the Bop people, but FWIW I find the BOP stuff to be pretty useless.... but I'm a died in the wool fundamentalist and find all TA type of stuff to be pretty useless.

And since nobody asked:) I'll state my current favorite stock picks. All of which I plan on holding at least 5 years btw:)

CVD...GELX...LGND...RPC...GMED Dontcha just hate it when people shill their stocks off topic to other boards? Don't worry... It won't happen again... It just sorta slipped out.

Okay so I think I've got the flavor of things here. A little rat talk... a little bit of trying to keep TonyT in line... A lot of trying to wrap my mind around some of the technical stuff Henry N. posts.

BTW, Henry if your reading this I was wondering if you've read anything much on SUGN and if so what your opinion of it is? They're pretty deep into receptors also so in a way they seem similiar to LGND... albeit without as deep a pipeline. I don't own any of it though. Partly because of a nagging feeling that some patent issues may eventually crop up with their lead drug.
