...not sure. but i know that it has been used on humans for "months" and that is likely the timeframe. it will typically, in the future only be used once during surgical intervention. so side effects should be minimal.

...in general, side effects concern lung problems primarily--inflammation. seems that it is treated sucessfully with short term steroids.

.....otherwise, there have been some other minor side effects, but very little realtive to the potential for cost/live saving.
