You need to consider the possibility that the VC's behind Brocade have a lot of pull with a lot of people as well. It may be as simple as politics. The good ol' boy network can have a profound impact in contract wins.

I think you and others are all grasping at straws trying to blame the switch, they could have modified their ASICs a dozen times by now if there were problems.
