Bosco;
<<More important, the problem is that the net is merely a carrier.>>
And God forbid that it become anything else IMO because in that simplicity is its true beauty. There has simply been nothing like it in history. A medium that has no committed editorial agenda but rather is open to all agendas has no precedent that I can think of.
<<So long as the regime has the apparatus to control the pathos of the nation, much work has to be done.>>
And the point is that the undoing of that apparatus is ideas, plain, unadulterated, and available in magnitude and diversity.
<<One may argue it can only happen to some 3rd world countries, but I submit to you the counterpoint of the Nazi movement. Even sublime thinkers like Heidegger fell under its spell for a short time.>>
Do not forget that while Heidegger had his Nietzsche he also had his Kierkegaard and pre Socratic Greeks. All, of which, are available on the net today plus much more. This sort of blossoming of ideas delivered so much more efficiently may spawn vast numbers of original thinkers such as Heidegger. Good thing as his question "what is it, to be" begs more work.
