>> MCRE being acquired <<

I don't see it happening. MCRE's strength has always been it's talent pool in Kai Krause and company. A buy-out is not assured of retaining this talent. The terms of retaining the talent may also be more than what the suitor is willing to pay. MCRE's products such as Painter, Bryce, and Vector Effects don't have the mass market recognition or adoptance to warrant buying the company on these brands alone.

What I can see are companies such as Adobe buying certain properties from MCRE, such as Kai's Power Tools, which is an extremely useful Photoshop/After Effects filter collection. However, companies such as Alien Skin have great filters as well but no one has bought them out.

At the current levels, MCRE looks semi-attractive but I see the stock price testing the 4's in the next couple of weeks as all price support was broken on Friday.

I like MCRE's products but have also thought that their off-beat user interfaces turned people off. Adobe's products have easy to use interfaces and simple icon commands. MCRE's interfaces require a learning curve, which is a big no-no for mass consumers. Even Kai's Power Goo, aimed at the masses, is somewhat quirky.
